3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit [is there] of circumcision?
3:1 그렇다면 유대인의 나은 점이 무엇이며 할례의 유익이 무엇이냐?
3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
3:2 모든 면에서 많으니, 무엇보다도 그들에게 하나님의 말씀들이 맡겨졌음이니라.
3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
3:3 어떤 자들이 믿지 아니하였다면 어찌하겠느냐? 그들의 믿지 아니함이 하나님의 신실하심을 무효화시키겠느냐?
3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
3:4 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 실로, 하나님은 참되시나 사람은 모두 거짓말쟁이라, 기록된 바 "이는 주께서 주의 말씀에 의롭다 함을 얻으시고 판단받으실 때에 이기려 하심이라."고 함과 같으니라.
3:5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? [Is] God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man )
3:5 그러나 만일 우리의 불의가 하나님의 의를 드러나게 한다면 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요? (내가 사람의 방식대로 말하노니,) 응징하시는 하나님께서 불의하시냐?
3:6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
3:6 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 만일 그렇다면 하나님께서 어떻게 세상을 심판하시겠느냐?
3:7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
3:7 만일 나의 거짓말로 인하여 하나님의 진리가 더욱 풍성하여져서 그의 영광이 되었다면 어찌하여 내가 죄인으로서 여전히 심판을 받으리요?
3:8 And not [rather], (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
3:8 오히려 (우리가 비방을 받고 또 어떤 자들이 우리가 말하는 것으로 확증하는 것처럼) 악을 행하여 선이 이루어지게 하자고 하였겠느냐? 그런 자들의 정죄는 당연하니라.
3:9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
3:9 그러면 어떠하냐? 우리가 그들보다 더 나은 것이냐? 결코 그렇지 아니하도다. 유대인들이나 이방인들이나 다 죄 아래 있다고 우리가 이미 증거하였느니라.
3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
3:10 기록된 바와 같이 "의인은 없나니, 없도다, 한 사람도 없도다.
3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
3:11 깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없도다.
3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3:12 모두가 탈선하여 함께 무익하게 되었으며 선을 행하는 자는 없으니, 없도다, 한 사람도 없도다.
3:13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:
3:13 그들의 목구멍은 열린 무덤이요, 그들이 자기 혀로는 속였으며, 그들의 입술 아래는 독사의 독이 있고,
3:14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:
3:14 그들의 입은 저주와 독설로 가득 차고,
3:15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:
3:15 그들의 발은 피 흘리는 데 빠른지라,
3:16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways:
3:16 파멸과 비참함이 그들의 길에 있고,
3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:
3:17 그들은 평강의 길을 알지 못했으며,
3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
3:18 그들의 눈 앞에는 하나님을 두려워함이 없도다."라고 하였느니라.
3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
3:19 이제 율법이 말하는 것은 무엇이나 율법 아래 있는 사람들에게 말하는 것인 줄 우리가 아노니, 이는 모든 입을 막고 온 세상이 하나님 앞에 죄가 있게 하려 함이니라.
3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
3:20 그러므로 율법의 행위로는 그 분 앞에 의롭게 될 육체가 없나니, 이는 율법을 통해서는 죄의 깨달음이 있음이니라.
3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
3:21 그러나 이제는 율법없이 하나님의 의가 나타났으니, 율법과 선지서들을 통해 증거된 것이니라.
3:22 Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
3:22 곧 하나님의 의는 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 인한 것으로 모든 자와 믿는 모든 자에게 미치나니, 차별이 없느니라.
3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
3:23 이는 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하다가
3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
3:24 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구속을 통하여 그의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 되었음이라.
3:25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
3:25 하나님께서는 그를 그의 피에 대한 믿음을 통하여 화목제물로 세우셨으니, 이는 하나님의 오래 참으심 가운데서 이전에 지은 죄들을 사하심으로 인하여 그의 의를 선포하려 하심이요,
3:26 To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
3:26 곧 이때에 자기의 의를 선포하심은 자신도 의롭게 되시고 또한 예수를 믿는 자도 의롭다 하려 하심이니라.
3:27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
3:27 그러므로 자랑할 데가 어디 있느냐? 있을 수 없느니라. 무슨 법으로냐? 행위의 법으로냐? 아니라. 오직 믿음의 법에 의해서니라.
3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
3:28 그러므로 우리는 사람이 율법의 행위들이 없이 믿음으로 의롭게 된다고 단정하노라.
3:29 [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
3:29 하나님은 유대인들만의 하나님이시고 이방인들의 하나님은 아니시냐? 물론 이방인들의 하나님도 되시느니라.
3:30 Seeing [it is] one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
3:30 정녕 할례자도 믿음으로 인하여 의롭게 하고 무할례자도 믿음으로 의롭게 하실 분은 하나님 한 분이시니라.
3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
3:31 그렇다면 우리가 믿음으로 율법을 폐하느냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 오히려 우리가 율법을 굳게 세우느니라.
