30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, [even] the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
30:1 야케의 아들 아굴의 말씀들, 곧 예언이라. 그 사람이 이디엘, 곧 이디엘과 우칼에게 말하였더라.
30:2 Surely I [am] more brutish than [any] man, and have not the understanding of a man.
30:2 실로 나는 어느 누구보다도 야만적이요, 내게는 사람의 명철이 없느니라.
30:3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
30:3 나는 지혜도 배우지 못하였고 거룩한 것들에 대한 지식도 없느니라.
30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son's name, if thou canst tell?
30:4 하늘에 올라가셨다가 내려오신 분이 누구신가? 바람을 자기의 주먹 안에다 모으시는 분이 누구신가? 옷으로 물들을 싸매신 분이 누구신가? 땅의 모든 끝들을 정해 놓으신 분이 누구신가? 그 분의 이름은 무엇이며, 그 분의 아들의 이름이 무엇인지 네가 말할 수 있느냐?
30:5 Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
30:5 하나님의 모든 말씀은 순수하니, 그는 자기를 신뢰하는 자들에게 방패시니라.
30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
30:6 너는 그 말씀에 더하지 말라. 그 분이 너를 책망하실까 함이며 네가 거짓말쟁이가 될까 함이라.
30:7 Two [things] have I required of thee; deny me [them] not before I die:
30:7 내가 주께 두 가지 것을 구하였사오니, 내가 죽기 전에 나를 거절하지 마소서.
30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
30:8 내게서 허황된 것과 거짓을 제해 주시고, 나를 가난하게도 마시고 부하게도 마시며 내게 필요한 양식으로 나를 먹이소서.
30:9 Lest I be full, and deny [thee], and say, Who [is] the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God [in vain].
30:9 이는 내가 배불러 주를 부인하며 말하기를 "주가 누구냐?" 할까 함이며, 또 내가 가난하여 도둑질하고 내 하나님의 이름을 욕되게 할까 함이니이다.
30:10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.
30:10 너는 종을 그의 주인에게 비방하지 말라. 그가 너를 저주하며 너의 죄가 드러날까 함이라.
30:11 [There is] a generation [that] curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
30:11 자기들의 아버지를 저주하고, 자기들의 어머니를 축복하지 않는 세대가 있느니라.
30:12 [There is] a generation [that are] pure in their own eyes, and [yet] is not washed from their filthiness.
30:12 자기들의 눈에는 순결하나, 아직도 자기들의 더러움을 씻어내지 아니하는 세대가 있느니라.
30:13 [There is] a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
30:13 오, 그들의 눈이 얼마나 거만한가! 그러한 세대가 있나니 그들의 눈꺼풀은 높이 들렸느니라.
30:14 [There is] a generation, whose teeth [are as] swords, and their jaw teeth [as] knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from [among] men.
30:14 앞니는 검 같고 어금니는 칼 같아서 가난한 자를 땅에서 삼키고 궁핍한 자를 사람 가운데서 삼키는 세대가 있느니라.
30:15 The horseleach hath two daughters, [crying], Give, give. There are three [things that] are never satisfied, [yea], four [things] say not, [It is] enough:
30:15 말거머리에게는 두 딸이 있는데 부르짖기를 "주소서, 주소서." 하느니라. 결코 만족하지 못하는 세 가지가 있고, 정녕, "충분하다."고 말하지 않는 네 가지가 있으니,
30:16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth [that] is not filled with water; and the fire [that] saith not, [It is] enough.
30:16 음부와, 아이를 낳지 못하는 태와, 물로 채울 수 없는 땅과, "충분하다."고 말하지 않는 불이니라.
30:17 The eye [that] mocketh at [his] father, and despiseth to obey [his] mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
30:17 자기 아버지를 조롱하며 자기 어머니에게 순종하기 싫어하는 자의 눈은 골짜기의 까마귀가 쪼아낼 것이요, 새끼 독수리들이 그것을 먹으리라.
30:18 There be three [things which] are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
30:18 내게 너무 기이한 세 가지가 있고, 정녕, 내가 알지 못하는 네 가지가 있으니,
30:19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
30:19 공중에 있는 독수리의 길과, 바위 위에 있는 뱀의 길과, 바다 한가운데 있는 배의 길과, 여자와 함께한 남자의 길이라.
30:20 Such [is] the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.
30:20 간음하는 여인의 길도 그러하니라. 그녀가 먹고서 입을 씻으며 말하기를 "내가 악을 행하지 않았다." 하느니라.
30:21 For three [things] the earth is disquieted, and for four [which] it cannot bear:
30:21 세상을 소란하게 하는 세 가지가 있고, 세상이 견딜 수 없는 네 가지가 있으니,
30:22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;
30:22 종이 치리하는 것과, 어리석은 자가 음식으로 배 부른 것과,
30:23 For an odious [woman] when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
30:23 불결한 여자가 혼인한 것과, 몸종이 안주인의 상속자인 것이니라.
30:24 There be four [things which are] little upon the earth, but they [are] exceeding wise:
30:24 땅에서는 작지만 아주 현명한 네 가지가 있으니,
30:25 The ants [are] a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
30:25 개미들은 강하지 못한 백성들이나, 그들은 여름에 음식을 예비하며
30:26 The conies [are but] a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
30:26 바위너구리들은 약한 무리이나, 그들의 집을 바위 위에 짓고
30:27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
30:27 메뚜기들은 왕이 없으나, 모두가 떼를 지어 앞으로 나아가며
30:28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.
30:28 거미는 손으로 지탱하나 왕궁에 있느니라.
30:29 There be three [things] which go well, yea, four are comely in going:
30:29 잘 걷는 것 세 가지가 있고, 정녕, 위풍있게 다니는 네 가지가 있으니,
30:30 A lion [which is] strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
30:30 짐승 중에서 가장 강하여 어떤 것에게서도 물러서지 아니하는 사자와,
30:31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom [there is] no rising up.
30:31 회색사냥개와, 숫염소와, 또 그에게 대적하여 일어날 수 없는 왕이라.
30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, [lay] thine hand upon thy mouth.
30:32 만일 네가 어리석게도 스스로 높은 체하였거나 악한 일을 도모하였다면 네 손으로 네 입을 막으라.
30:33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
30:33 실로, 젖을 저으면 버터가 되고, 코를 비틀면 피가 나듯이, 진노를 격동시키면 다툼이 나느니라.
