11:1 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen [men], which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
11:1 르호보암이 예루살렘에 가서 유다와 베냐민을 모으니, 택한 사람이 십팔만으로 용사들이더라. 이는 이스라엘과 싸워 왕국을 르호보암에게로 회복시키려는 것이었더라.
11:2 But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
11:2 그러나 주의 말씀이 하나님의 사람 스마야에게 임하여 말씀하시기를
11:3 Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
11:3 "솔로몬의 아들 유다 왕 르호보암과 유다와 베냐민의 온 이스라엘에게 고하여 말하라.
11:4 Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
11:4 '주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 올라가지도 말며 너희 형제를 대항하여 싸우지도 말고 각자 자기 집으로 돌아가라. 이는 이 일이 내게서 나온 것임이라.'" 하시니라. 그러므로 그들이 주의 말씀에 순종하고 여로보암을 치러 가는 데서 돌이켰더라.
11:5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
11:5 르호보암이 예루살렘에 거하여 유다를 방어하기 위한 성읍들을 건축하였으니
11:6 He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
11:6 즉 그가 베들레헴과, 에탐과, 트코아와,
11:7 And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
11:7 벳술과, 소코와, 아둘람과,
11:8 And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
11:8 가드와, 마레사와, 십과,
11:9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
11:9 아도라임과, 라키스와, 아세카와,
11:10 And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which [are] in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.
11:10 소라와, 아얄론과, 헤브론을 건축하였으니, 이것들은 유다와 베냐민에 있는 성벽으로 두른 성읍들이더라.
11:11 And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
11:11 르호보암이 요새들을 견고히 하고 요새들 안에 대장들을 배치하며 식량과 기름과 포도주를 비치하였더라.
11:12 And in every several city [he put] shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
11:12 어떤 성읍에는 방패들과 창들을 두어 그들을 심히 강하게 하였으며, 유다와 베냐민을 그의 편에 두었더라.
11:13 And the priests and the Levites that [were] in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
11:13 온 이스라엘에 거하는 제사장들과 레위인들이 그들의 온 지경으로부터 르호보암에게로 모여들었더라.
11:14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:
11:14 레위인들이 그들의 고을과 소유를 떠나 유다와 예루살렘으로 갔으니, 이는 여로보암과 그의 아들들이 그들을 추방하여 주께 제사장의 직분을 수행하지 못하게 하였으며
11:15 And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
11:15 여로보암이 자기를 위하여 제사장들을 임명하여 산당들과 마귀들과 그가 만든 송아지들을 섬기게 하였음이더라.
11:16 And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.
11:16 이스라엘의 모든 지파들 중에서 이스라엘의 주 하나님을 찾으려고 그 마음을 정한 자들이 그들을 따라 예루살렘으로 가서 그들의 조상의 주 하나님께 희생제사를 드리고자 하였더라.
11:17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
11:17 그리하여 그들이 삼 년 동안 유다 왕국을 견고히 하였으며 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암을 강하게 하였으니, 이는 삼 년 동안 그들이 다윗과 솔로몬의 길로 행하였음이더라.
11:18 And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, [and] Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
11:18 르호보암이 마할랏을 아내로 삼았으니, 그녀는 다윗의 아들 여리못의 딸이며 이새의 아들 엘리압의 딸 아비하일의 소생이더라.
11:19 Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
11:19 그녀가 그에게 자녀를 낳았으니 여우스와, 사마랴와, 사함이라.
11:20 And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
11:20 그녀 다음으로 르호보암이 압살롬의 딸 마아카를 취하니, 그녀가 그에게 아비야와, 앗태와, 시사와, 슬로밋을 낳았더라.
11:21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
11:21 르호보암이 압살롬의 딸 마아카를 그의 모든 아내들과 첩들보다 더 사랑하였더라. (그에게 아내 열 여덟과 첩 육십이 있어 아들 스물 여덟과 딸 삼십을 낳았더라.)
11:22 And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, [to be] ruler among his brethren: for [he thought] to make him king.
11:22 르호보암이 마아카의 아들 아비야를 우두머리로 삼아 그를 형제들 가운데서 치리자가 되게 하였으니, 이는 그가 그를 왕으로 삼으려고 생각하였음이더라.
11:23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
11:23 르호보암이 현명하게 행하여 그의 모든 자녀들을 유다와 베냐민의 전 지역 모든 견고한 성읍에 흩어져 살게 하였으며 그들에게 식량을 많이 주었더라. 그가 많은 아내들을 원하였더라.
11:1 르호보암이 예루살렘에 가서 유다와 베냐민을 모으니, 택한 사람이 십팔만으로 용사들이더라. 이는 이스라엘과 싸워 왕국을 르호보암에게로 회복시키려는 것이었더라.
11:2 But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
11:2 그러나 주의 말씀이 하나님의 사람 스마야에게 임하여 말씀하시기를
