2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2:1 그리하여 하늘들과 땅이 완성되었고 하늘들의 군상들도 그러하니라.
2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
2:2 일곱째 날에 하나님께서 자신의 하시던 일을 끝내시고, 자신의 하시던 자신의 모든 일로부터 일곱째 날에 쉬시니라.
2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
2:3 하나님께서 일곱째 날을 복 주시고 그것을 거룩하게 하셨으니, 이는 그 날에 하나님께서 창조하시고 지으신 그의 모든 일로부터 쉬셨음이라.
2:4 These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
2:4 하늘들과 땅이 창조되었을 때 그것들의 내력이 이러하니라. 그 날에 주 하나님께서 땅과 하늘들을 지으셨으니
2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and [there was] not a man to till the ground.
2:5 들의 모든 초목이 땅에 있기 전이었으며 들의 모든 채소도 자라기 이전이었으니, 이는 주 하나님께서 땅 위에 비를 주시지 않았으며 또 땅을 경작할 사람도 없었음이더라.
2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
2:6 다만 땅에서 안개가 올라와서 온 지면을 적시더라.
2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
2:7 주 하나님께서 땅의 흙으로 사람을 지으시고, 그의 콧구멍에다 생명의 호흡을 불어 넣으시니 사람이 살아 있는 혼이 되었더라.
2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
2:8 또 주 하나님께서 에덴의 동편에 동산을 세우시고, 그가 지으신 그 사람을 그 곳에 두시며
2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
2:9 주 하나님께서 보기에 즐겁고 양식으로 좋은 모든 나무를 그 땅에서 자라게 하시니, 동산 가운데에는 생명 나무와, 선과 악의 지식의 나무도 있더라.
2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
2:10 강이 에덴에서 흘러 나가 그 동산을 적시고 그 곳으로부터 갈라져서 네 원천이 되었으니
2:11 The name of the first [is] Pison: that [is] it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where [there is] gold;
2:11 첫번째의 이름은 피손인데 금이 있는 하윌라의 온 땅을 둘렀으며
2:12 And the gold of that land [is] good: there [is] bdellium and the onyx stone.
2:12 그 땅의 금은 좋고 그 곳에는 델리엄과 얼룩마노도 있더라.
2:13 And the name of the second river [is] Gihon: the same [is] it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
2:13 두 번째 강의 이름은 기혼인데 에디오피아의 온 땅을 둘렀더라.
2:14 And the name of the third river [is] Hiddekel: that [is] it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river [is] Euphrates.
2:14 세 번째 강의 이름은 힛데켈이라. 그것은 앗시리아 동편으로 흐르더라. 네 번째 강은 유프라테스더라.
2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
2:15 주 하나님께서 그 사람을 데려다가 에덴의 동산에 두시고, 그것을 관리하고 지키게 하시더라.
2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
2:16 주 하나님께서 그 사람에게 명령하여 말씀하시기를 "동산의 모든 나무에서 나는 것을 네가 마음대로 먹을 수 있으나
2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
2:17 선과 악의 지식의 나무에서 나는 것은 먹지 말라. 네가 거기서 나는 것을 먹는 날에는 반드시 죽으리라." 하시니라.
2:18 And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
2:18 또 주 하나님께서 말씀하시기를 "남자가 혼자 있는 것이 좋지 않으니 내가 그를 위하여 돕는 자를 지으리라." 하시며
2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.
2:19 주 하나님께서 땅으로부터 들의 여러 가지 짐승과 공중의 여러 가지 새를 지으시고, 아담이 어떻게 그들을 부르는가 보시려고 그들을 아담에게로 데려오시니, 아담이 모든 생물을 무엇이라고 부르든지 그것이 그 이름이 되더라.
2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
2:20 아담이 모든 가축과 공중의 새와 들의 모든 짐승에게 이름을 주었으나, 아담이 자기를 위해 돕는 자는 찾지 못하더라.
2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
2:21 주 하나님께서 아담을 깊은 잠에 빠지게 하시니 그가 잠드니라. 하나님께서 그의 갈비뼈 중에서 하나를 취하시고 살로 대신 거기를 채우시더라.
2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
2:22 주 하나님께서 남자에게서 취했던 갈비뼈로 여자를 지으셔서 그녀를 그 남자에게로 데려오시니
2:23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
2:23 아담이 말하기를 "이는 내 뼈 중의 뼈요, 내 살 중의 살이니, 그녀를 여자라 부르리라. 이는 그녀가 남자에게서 취해졌음이라." 하니라.
2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
2:24 그러므로 남자가 자기 아버지와 자기 어머니를 떠나서 자기 아내와 결합하리니, 그들이 한 몸이 될 것임이니라.
2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
2:25 남자와 그의 아내가 둘 다 벌거벗었으나 부끄러워 아니하더라.
