141:1 Jehovah, I have called upon thee; Make haste unto me: Give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.
141:1 {A Psalm of David.} O Lord, I call upon Thee; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to Thee!
141:2 Let my prayer be set forth as incense before thee; The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
141:2 May my prayer be counted as incense before Thee; The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.
141:3 Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.
141:3 Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.
141:4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, To practise deeds of wickedness With men that work iniquity: And let me not eat of their dainties.
141:4 Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds of wickedness With men who do iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.
141:5 Let the righteous smite me, (it shall be) a kindness; And let him reprove me, (it shall be as) oil upon the head; Let not my head refuse it: For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.
141:5 Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it, For still my prayer is against their wicked deeds.
141:6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; And they shall hear my words; For they are sweet.
141:6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock, And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.
141:7 As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth, Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
141:7 As when one plows and breaks open the earth, Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
141:8 For mine eyes are unto thee, O Jehovah the Lord: In thee do I take refuge; Leave not my soul destitute.
141:8 For my eyes are toward Thee, O GOD, the Lord; In Thee I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless.
141:9 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.
141:9 Keep me from the jaws of the trap which they have set for me, And from the snares of those who do iniquity.
141:10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, Whilst that I withal escape.
